El Sisi is not looking for more military support from Germany, but says the country could have a more active role in cutting financing to terrorist-linked groups and states. The main goal now, according to El Sisi, is to dry out the funding sources of terrorism. ARD notes that El Sisi did not single out Qatar explicitly as one of those state sponsors of terror, but said the most recent boycott of the nation would not be destabilizing to the region and will not lead to \u201cwar.\u201d El Sisi also reportedly spoke about human rights, freedom of expression, and freedom of the press in the interview.
