It\u2019s a filmic portrait of the Darb El Ahmar district of Cairo that is \u201cin the heart of the old city\u201d and \u201cnow facing a process of radical change.\u201d Living with the Past \u201cdocuments a unique approach to historic preservation, one that combines social and economic development with monument restoration,\u201d Cairobserver says, where restoration does not involve displacing people or demolishing neighbourhoods.
