Qatar\u2019s response to the Arab nations\u2019 demands was \u201cpassive and devoid of content,\u201d <\/strong>showing no indication the country is willing to concede, Foreign Affairs Minister Sameh Shoukry told Amr Adib<\/strong> on last night\u2019s Kol Youm<\/strong>. Shoukry stressed that the Arab states are not willing to compromise on their demands (watch<\/a>, runtime: 20:27).<\/p>\n

People were expecting a more action-driven response from Qatar<\/strong>, Emirati political analyst Jassim Khalfan told Masaa DMC\u2019s Osama Kamal.<\/strong> The four Arab states\u2019 comeback, however, was \u201cwise\u201d and shows that they have the best interests of the Qatari people at heart, as made evident by the fact that there was no escalation yesterday, he added (watch<\/a>, runtime: 5:07).<\/p>\n

Kuwait is now stuck between a rock and a hard place <\/strong>and might find itself having to retreat from its mediatory role to join the Qatari ban, Emirati political science professor Abdul Khaleq Abdullah told Dina Zahra, who is filling in for Lamees Al Hadidi on CBC\u2019s Hona Al Asema<\/strong> (watch<\/a>, runtime: 11:04).<\/p>\n
