Where\u2019s the market to short humankind? <\/strong>\u201cIt\u2019s hard to price a potentially extinction event (at least for much of the Korean peninsula),\u201d Timothy Ash, a senior strategist at Bluebay Asset Management, told Bloomberg<\/a> in commentary on why financial markets haven\u2019t really reacted much to the escalation in tensions between the US and North Korea. Templeton Emerging Markets Chairman Mark Mobius echoes a similar sentiment, saying \u201cthere\u2019s nothing you can do about it \u2014 if something breaks out, we\u2019re all finished anyway.\u201d US President Donald Trump warned in a tweet<\/a> over the weekend that, \u201cMilitary solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely.\u201d The Donald then RT\u2019ed a tweet from US Pacific Command<\/a> echoing US forces in Korea\u2019s motto: \u201c#USAF B-1B Lancer #bombers on Guam stand ready to fulfill USFK\u2019s #FightTonight mission if called upon to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n

It seems likely to be a US-centric news week: <\/strong>Look for US movement this week on Chinese trade practices, where Trump will reportedly call on Monday for a probe<\/a> \u2014 or not, if the ChiComs help out with North Korea. The Donald is also picking a fight with Venezuela<\/a> and sending his son-in-law to launch a fresh round of Palestinian-Israeli talks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Maybe it\u2019s that summer is sliding to a close \u2014 or the prospect of nuclear apocalypse \u2014 <\/strong>but we\u2019re feeling our age here at Enterprise. <\/strong>First, it was being told \u201cMove over, millennials: Gen Z agencies are on the rise<\/strong><\/a>\u201d by ad agency and media bible Digiday \u2014 with all of the precious exceptionalism with which headlines once told Gen X\u2019ers they were \u2018over\u2019 because the millennials among us were here. Moving on up the age spectrum, we recently stumbled across this 2012 piece by author Marci Alboher<\/a> (subtly pitching her book<\/a>) on career changes in midlife to \u201cmake a difference.\u201d<\/strong><\/a> Then there\u2019s training for masters sports competitions in your 70s and beyond in \u201cShe Just Won 3 Gold Medals for Her Swimming. She\u2019s Only 73.<\/strong><\/a>\u201d And to cap it all off? The cutest love story we can remember reading in forever from the New York Times\u2019 weddings column: \u201cShe\u2019s 98. It\u2019s going to be a more than a few years, we suspect, before we hit the same saturation point and this becomes relevant to Egypt, but Business Insider nevertheless has a good read in, \u201cThe retail apocalypse is heading straight for Kroger, Whole Foods, and Aldi<\/strong>.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n
