Labor Minister Mohamed Saafan signed five agreements yesterday that will see the likes of Pepsi, Coca Cola, and Nestle pay their employees a 10% hardship raise of EGP 165-330 a month, Al Shorouk reports<\/a>. The raise, which had been proposed last month<\/a> under a non-binding initiative between the government and the private sector, will be applied retroactively to July salaries to match the raise that was meant to be paid to state bureaucrats as of last month<\/a>.
