This comes after the Italian government sent ships to help stem migrant movement to Europe at the request of a rival government faction led by Fayez Serraj, who later denied making the request. Haftar\u2019s faction sees Italy\u2019s presence as a violation of sovereignty and as a push to export the European migrant crisis into Libya.
