Microbuses being phased out? Glory Hallelujah:<\/strong> The Transport Ministry is drawing up a plan to gradually rid Cairo\u2019s streets of what it charmingly refers to as \u201crandom transport options,\u201d \u2014 including the warthogs of the streets that are microbuses and collective gypsy cabs<\/strong> \u2014 in a bid to reduce traffic in our fair city, Al Shorouk reports<\/a>. Under an action plan the ministry recently put together, policies to restrict personal car usage and encourage carpooling are also being considered. Topping the plan, however, is the ongoing overhaul<\/a> of public transport, which is seeing the government enlist the help of the private sector<\/a> to upgrade the railway network, Cairo Metro, and bus fleet<\/a>.
