Saudi vows to continue pressuring Doha to meet demands as Russia enters<\/strong> mediation:<\/strong> Riyadh intends to continue putting pressure on Doha until it meets the list of 13 demands made by the boycott bloc, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said on Sunday, AFP reports<\/a>. The remarks came during a joint press conference in Jeddah with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The minister urged \u201call parties to restore regional unity\u201d and \u201center into direct talks\u201d to resolve their dispute, according to Reuters<\/a>. Russia\u2019s mediation efforts come after a botched phone call<\/a> between the Saudi and Qatari rulers \u2014 arranged by US President Donald Trump \u2014 led Riyadh to suspend all dialogue with Doha, despite the statelet finally expressing its willingness to come to the negotiation table.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Qatari press claims<\/strong><\/a> that exiled Egyptian preacher Yusuf Al Qaradawi was <\/strong>removed from Interpol\u2019s wanted list<\/strong>, citing a release from the UK-based Arab Organization for Human Rights. The report claims that Interpol cleared the scholar, who\u2019s also affiliated with the Ikhwan, of charges brought against him by Egyptian authorities, which include \u201cmurder and theft,\u201d the Anadolu Agency says<\/a>. Al Qaradawi\u2019s name doesn\u2019t appear to be listed on Interpol\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All of this comes as Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman retools his \u201cNational <\/strong>Transformation Plan\u201d <\/strong>amid what the Wall Street Journal<\/a> says are worries about public backlash.
