The Central Bank of Egypt will be welcoming central bankers and senior government officials from 94 countries and 119 international institutions, which could make the event AFI\u2019s \u201c largest and most comprehensive\u201d to date. You can check <a href=\"http:\/\/www.afi-global.org\/sites\/default\/files\/inline-files\/Draft%202017%20GPF%20Program_External_v26.pdf\">the agenda here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Council of State is set to start reviewing the Investment Act\u2019s executive<\/strong><strong>regulations next week and conclude before the end of the month, <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/alborsanews.com\/2017\/09\/05\/1049083\">sources tell Al Borsa<\/a>. Implementation will then be pending Cabinet approval.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Diverging opinions within the US Fed on interest rate hikes:<\/strong> US Fed governors have come out with statements urging caution about the notion of raising interest rates ahead of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/monetarypolicy\/fomccalendars.htm\">Fed Policy meeting on 19-20 September<\/a>. Fed governors Lael Brainard and Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari have expressed reservations on a rate hike, with the central issue being continued low inflation. In a speech on Tuesday, Brainard said that the weakness of price growth over the past five years was \u201ctroubling\u201d and suggested that the Fed should be cautious about tightening further until its officials were confident inflation was back on track, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/f752ff58-923c-11e7-a9e6-11d2f0ebb7f0\">according to the Financial Times<\/a>. Kashkari took it a step further, attacking the whole policy of money tightening over the past 18 months, saying it was doing \u201creal harm\u201d to the US economy and leading to slower job and wage growth, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2017-09-05\/kashkari-says-fed-may-have-harmed-u-s-economy-with-rate-hikes\">Bloomberg reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbe.org.eg\/en\/MonetaryPolicy\/Pages\/MPCMeetingSchedule.aspx\"><strong>central bank\u2019s Monetary Policy Committee<\/strong><\/a><strong> will be meeting on 28 September <\/strong>to decide on Egypt\u2019s interest rates. We don\u2019t expect rates to be lowered until the end of the year, when the CBE can point to falling inflation thanks to the high base effect of late 2017.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Egypt to sign EUR 172 mn loan agreement with European Investment Bank:<\/strong> The Investment and International Cooperation Ministry will sign a EUR 172 mn loan agreement with the European Investment Bank this month to fund wastewater treatment projects, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.almalnews.com\/Story\/344802\/15\/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AD%D9%83%D9%88%D9%85%D8%A9-%D8%AA%D9%88%D9%82%D8%B9-%D8%A7%D8%AA%D9%81%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%A7%D9%8B-%D9%85%D8%B9-%D8%A8%D9%86%D9%83-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%AB%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%B1-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A3%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%A8%D9%89\">sources tell Al Mal<\/a>.
