Meanwhile, third-year students will only take five graded subjects instead of seven. Here\u2019s a rundown of the plan:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continuing the presidential initiative to hire 30k teachers annually.<\/li>\n<li>Activating a law to have teachers continue to work beyond retirement age.<\/li>\n<li>Hiring 50k part-time teachers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Also part of the plan: <\/strong>The ministry will extend the academic year from 23 to 31 weeks and add five minutes to each lesson.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Mitigating overcrowding:<\/strong> Abdellatif also laid out a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EgyptianCabinet\/posts\/pfbid02P1xtDWfdgLdL9ThajYiPm5Yc1XtmQZZDBB1Xxe19yK3ePd1nHruRaup4Frb2XVVHl\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">multi-faceted approach<\/a> to address classroom overcrowding:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Splitting school hours into shifts:<\/strong> Starting the next academic year, Thanaweya Amma will transition to evening classes, freeing up morning hours for middle schools. In turn, primary schools will utilize morning sessions previously allocated to middle schools. Schools will have the discretion to implement these changes based on their needs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>More school days:<\/strong> The school week will be extended from four to five days dedicated to academic learning, followed by a sixth day for extracurricular activities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>More classrooms:<\/strong> The General Authority for Educational Buildings has been tasked with conducting a survey of available spaces to identify potential spaces for classrooms.
