Last night\u2019s talk shows centered around two government decisions<\/strong> \u2014 compensating some Thanaweya Amma students for an exam error and streamlining building permit procedures.<\/p>\n

A physics exam bloop: <\/strong>The Education Ministry added two marks to the physics exam scores of some Thanaweya Amma students after it found that two answers to a multiple-choice question were correct, compensating those who selected the second choice, it said<\/a> yesterday. The ministry has launched an urgent investigation into the matter. <\/p>\n

The error was slammed on the airwaves: <\/strong>\u201cWhat happened is a crime,\u201d Ala Mas\u2019ouleety\u2019s Ahmed Moussa lamented, demanding that those responsible be held accountable (watch, runtime: 29:28<\/a>). The error will impact thousands of students \u2014 including the rankings of top students \u2014 and potentially compromise the integrity of other exam results, he said, calling on the Education Minister to explain what went wrong. MEANWHILE- Building permits made easy: <\/strong>Securing a building permit will now take 26 working days if an ins. policy isn\u2019t required and 40 days if it is after the Local Development Ministry simplified<\/a> the procedures by almost halving the number of required steps.
