The Air Force bombed eight four-wheel-drive vehicles carrying arms and explosives in the Western Desert on the borders with Libya, the Armed Forces said in a statement on Monday<\/a>. The statement said the individuals who were part of the convoy were killed. Security forces in the area have been on high alert following last Friday\u2019s attack in the Wahat area, which saw 16 policemen and conscripts killed. As part of efforts to secure the border, Egypt is apparently expected to receive a mobile surveillance sensor security system for border guards personnel from the US Air Force. The US Department of Defense has contracted the project out to STARA Technologies, a subsidiary of Advance Technology Systems Company.
