Finance Minister Amr El Garhy and CBE Governor Tarek Amer met earlier this month with IMF Chief Christine Lagarde, who \u201cpraised\u201d Egypt\u2019s reforms. El Garhy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mof.gov.eg\/Arabic\/MOFNews\/Press\/Pages\/news-a-19-10-17.aspx\">had previously said<\/a> the government has completed 80% of its intended \u201ctough\u201d reforms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A World Trade Organization delegation arrived in Cairo on Saturday to discuss its draft<\/strong><strong>trade policy review on Egypt<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.almasryalyoum.com\/news\/details\/1208459\">Al Masry Al Youm reports<\/a>. The delegation will meet with officials including Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Kabil during its five-day visit. This is the WTO\u2019s third visit in relation to the review. An April delegation had commended the government\u2019s \u201c2020 export strategy\u201d and efforts to revamp trade policies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>President Abdel Fattah El Sisi sets off to Paris today for a three-day visit.<\/strong> El Sisi will be sitting down with French President Emmanuel Macron tomorrow ahead of a joint press conference, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ahram.org.eg\/News\/202428\/25\/619131\/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A3%D9%88%D9%84%D9%89\/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B1%D8%A6%D9%8A%D8%B3-%D9%8A%D8%A8%D8%AF%D8%A3-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%8A%D9%88%D9%85-%D8%B2%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%A9-%D9%84%D9%81%D8%B1%D9%86%D8%B3%D8%A7--%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%AA%D8%B5%D8%A7%D8%AF-%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A5%D8%B5%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%AD-.aspx\">Al Ahram reports<\/a>. The two leaders are <strong>likely to discuss a new arms agreement, <\/strong>sources tell <a href=\"http:\/\/www.almasryalyoum.com\/news\/details\/1208791\">Al Masry Al Youm<\/a>, adding that Egypt\u2019s temporary ban on French wheat imports will also be on the list of topics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>El Sisi will also meet with a number of other French officials<\/strong> (including the prime minister and presidents of the Senate and National Assembly) and will hold a <strong>roundtable with French investors<\/strong>.
