The two agreed to \u201ccontinue their intensive joint efforts to achieve a ceasefire [in Gaza] and to work towards implementing the two-state solution.\u201d Egypt, the US, and Qatar have been trying to broker a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel for months now but with no luck.
