<\/a> Egypt, Togo, and Ivory Coast have been leading progress on African human development <\/strong>for the last five years<\/strong>, according to the Mo Ibrahim Foundation\u2019s 2017 Index of African Governance. Egypt also performs well on the index in terms of \u201csustainable economic opportunity\u201d as it has \u201cmore than tripled its annual pace of improvement\u201d over the last five years when compared to the last decade. Egypt also ranked 139 of 163 on Vision of Humanity\u2019s Global Peace Index (GPI),<\/strong> up from 142 a year before. The index uses data on militarization, society and security, and domestic and international conflict to rate countries.
