Hotel occupancy rates in Luxor have been on an upswing this winter season, reaching 60-70%,head of the Tourism Promotion Authority in Upper Egypt Mohamed Osman told AMAY<\/a>. He added that rates of USD 85 per night are being spent compared to USD 45 per night last year as well as longer durations of stay. Asian markets have contributed to the rise with tourism from India, China and Japan increasing and 25 flights from across the globe landing daily.
