The government has proposed a new law that would make it easier for foreign universities to establish international branch campuses in Egypt, Times Higher Education reports<\/a>. Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar also called on UK universities to \u201cinvest in the Egyptian market of education.\u201d Abdel Ghaffar said that the law would \u201c\u2018facilitate and fast-track the licensing process\u2019 for overseas outposts in the country, \u2018support attracting investments in higher education\u2019 and facilitate the mobility of staff.\u201d The only international branch campus in Egypt currently is TU Berlin\u2019s outpost in Gouna.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
