Despite the \u201cbrotherly\u201d tone, El Ghandour maintained that Sudan\u2019s stance on the issue is unwavering and that the two countries must resolve their dispute through negotiations or international arbitration. Egypt has rejected the latter option, and has instead suggested transforming the triangle into an integrated Sudanese-Egyptian area. Sudan had renewed its complaint<\/a> to the UN Security Council regarding the Halayeb dispute last month one week after it withdrew its ambassador<\/a> to Egypt.
