Egypt ranked 110 out of 113 countries in terms of rule of law in the <\/strong>World Justice Project's (pdf)<\/strong><\/a> 2017-18 index<\/strong>, outperforming only Afghanistan, Cambodia, and Venezuela. Egypt\u2019s performance is the lowest in the region, with the United Arab Emirates coming out on top in the MENA region. The report\u2019s rankings are based on \u201cconstraints on government powers, absence of corruption, open government, fundamental rights, order and security, regulatory enforcement, civil justice, and criminal justice.\u201d<\/p>\n
