<\/a> Genena detained by military prosecution for 15 days:<\/strong> Military prosecutors ordered former head of the Central Auditing Organization Hesham Genena to be detained for 15 days pending investigation of his claim that he holds incriminating evidence against the Supreme Council of Armed Forces, state news agency MENA reported, according to Reuters<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Genena\u2019s detention comes two days after the release of his interview with <\/strong>HuffPost Arabi<\/strong><\/a>, in which he threatened to release the evidence if former military chief of staff Sami Anan is subjected to harm in military detention. Genena had been one of Anan\u2019s top aides during the latter\u2019s short-lived presidential bid.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Anan\u2019s son distanced himself from Genena\u2019s comments to HuffPost Arabi<\/strong>. Speaking to Dream TV\u2019s Wael El Ebrashi<\/a> on Monday night, he said that it would not make sense for his father to incriminate the military council to which he once belonged.
