Egypt and KFAED had signed the initial loan agreement back in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after<strong> the Islamic Development Bank Group agreed to offer funding for several development projects in Sinai<\/strong> during a meeting in Tunisia last week with Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miic.gov.eg\/Arabic\/MediaCenter\/News\/Pages\/%D8%AF.%D8%B3%D8%AD%D8%B1-%D9%86%D8%B5%D8%B1-%D8%AA%D9%81%D9%82-%D9%85%D8%B9-%D8%B1%D8%A6%D9%8A%D8%B3-%D9%85%D8%AC%D9%85%D9%88%D8%B9%D8%A9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A8%D9%86%D9%83-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%B3%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%85%D9%89-%D9%84%D9%84%D8%AA%D9%86%D9%85%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D8%B9%D9%84%D9%89-%D8%AF%D8%B9%D9%85-%D9%85%D8%B4%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%B9%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AA%D9%86%D9%85%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D9%81%D9%89-%D8%B3%D9%8A%D9%86%D8%A7%D8%A1-%D9%88%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%AA%D9%8A%D8%AC%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AA%D8%B9%D8%A7%D9%88%D9%86-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AC%D8%AF%D9%8A%D8%AF%D8%A9-%D8%AD%D8%AA%D9%89-2020.aspx\">according to a ministry statement<\/a>. The two sides did not settle on the amount of funding but agreed that it would be used in part to finance water treatment plants in the peninsula. The meeting also included talks on developing a USD 3 bn cooperation strategy for the next three years to finance other development efforts in Egypt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nasr is expected to drum up more financing commitments for Sinai development projects from four other regional financial institutions during meetings in Amman today<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/alborsanews.com\/2018\/04\/05\/1097781\">ministry sources say<\/a>.
