Yesterday\u2019s inauguration of the three combined-cycle power plants<\/strong> reigned supreme on the airwaves last night. We have the full story in Speed Round, below.<\/p>\n

The new power plants are expected to spur investments in Egypt as they will bring an end to the country\u2019s power shortages<\/strong>, and stand as an example of a successful large-scale investment in Egypt, Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company head Ibrahim Al Shahat told Hona Al Asema\u2019s Dina Zahra (watch, runtime: 21:01<\/a>). El Shenawy stressed that the committee\u2019s mandate should be restricted to state-sponsored events and that its powers should not extend to the private sphere, which would be disastrous.
