Carbon Holdings CEO Basil El Baz stressed that TPC, which will take about four years to build once funds are drawn down post financial close, has received substantial backing from international financial institutions. The complex will double Egyptian exports while producing raw materials that El Baz expects will serve as catalysts for the growth of industry here at home, <u><a href=\"https:\/\/af.reuters.com\/article\/africaTech\/idAFL8N1TV3SD\">Reuters reports<\/a><\/u>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background: <\/strong>UK Minister of Investment Graham Stuart had t<u><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2018\/05\/30\/uk-government-to-provide-usd-1-6-bn-funding-package-to-carbon-holdings-tahrir-plant-uk-investment-minister\/\">old Enterprise in an interview<\/a><\/u> back in May that the UK will be providing Tahrir Petrochemicals with \u201can unprecedented\u201d USD 1.6 bn financing package through UK Export Finance. El Molla sat down with UK Export Finance CEO Louis Taylor on Saturday to discuss the project and potential funding for future projects, according to <u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.petroleum.gov.eg\/ar\/MediaCenter\/LocalNews\/Pages\/mop_30062018_01.aspx\">an Oil Ministry statement<\/a><\/u>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What other oil execs are saying about the project:<\/strong> Sourcing funding for the project is a positive step, Robin Mills, CEO of Qamar Energy in Dubai, <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenational.ae\/business\/energy\/egypt-s-carbon-holdings-and-suez-canal-authority-deal-to-build-11bn-petchems-plant-1.745701\">told The National<\/a><\/u>. \u201cThey\u2019ve finally got the financing together, which will have a positive impact for investments.
