The government approved allowing shipments of wheat with moisture levels of up to 13.5% for an additional nine months as of July in a bid to promote competition among different origins at its state tenders, according to a Supply Ministry statement<\/a>. This is the second extension granted to the order, which was first issued in February 2017 and saw an extension back in October last year<\/a>. The move is expected to help Egypt diversify its sources away from the Black Sea and Russian exporters as higher moisture content is expected to give French wheat a higher chance of competing on state tenders.
