Among the topics: \u201cHow digitally mature are your clients? And what can you do differently to compete in a digital world? But what if there\u2019s more to Big Data than just volume? And what about digital security, company culture or infrastructure limitations? World leaders have gathered in France today for the occasion. Start with the New York Times\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/11\/09\/world\/europe\/armistice-day-100th-anniversary-photos.html\">archive of photos \u201cunpublished for 100 years\u201d<\/a> marking the \u201cjoy of war\u2019s end.\u201d The story is front and center in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/merkel-macron-mark-hundredth-anniversary-of-armistice-that-ended-wwi-1541870380\">Wall Street Journal<\/a>, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/opinion\/articles\/2018-11-10\/today-s-armies-are-still-fighting-world-war-i\">Bloomberg Opinion<\/a> looks at how the strategic, technological and medical breakthroughs\u201d of the war live on. Meanwhile, <strong>it was in the Middle East that the British during the First World War \u201cinvented the military technologies and techniques that inspired the tactics of WWII,\u201d <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/slate.com\/technology\/2018\/11\/armistice-day-world-war-i-british-technology-middle-east-colonies.html\"><strong>Slate explains<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Brent crude is now in bear market territory<\/strong>, closing below USD 70 \/ bbl on Friday, a 20% drop from the four-year highs it hit just a month ago, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/831bf014-e410-11e8-a6e5-792428919cee\">Financial Times<\/a> reports. The close came as \u201cOPEC and its allies gathered in Abu Dhabi amid signs that they\u2019ll consider cutting production next year,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2018-11-10\/opec-ministers-meet-as-oil-slump-adds-urgency-to-talk-of-cuts?srnd=premium-middle-east\">Bloomberg<\/a> adds.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of oil: <strong>Apache founder Raymond Plank has died at age 96. <\/strong>Plank started the company in 1954 with two friends and built \u201cthe Houston-based company into a global energy company and financial innovator,\u201d says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-people-rayplank\/raymond-plank-former-ceo-of-oil-explorer-apache-dies-at-96-idUSKCN1NF04O\">Reuters<\/a>. Plank was a Second World War bomber pilot and Yale grad with a penchant for colorful language.
