But we know it\u2019s not just the food that matters but also the ambiance.<\/strong> Each place has unique aesthetics and music that\u2019ll give you the best brunch experience \u2014 and the best part is that it can be enjoyed all week long.<\/p>\n

#1- <\/strong>BAXTERS<\/a><\/strong>:<\/strong>Looking for the ultimate European brunch, look no further than Baxters<\/a>, a sumptuous Anglo-Saxon kitchen and restaurant located in O1 Mall<\/a> where their dishes range from fluffy berry Danish waffles with homemade mixed berry compote and whipped cream to Greek-style poached eggs paired with avocados, Greek feta, cherry tomato mix drizzled with herbed olive oil. Their ambiance is almost communal made for all types of groups but their music can go unnoticeable.<\/p>\n

MUST EAT: <\/strong>The turkey and cheese toastie (EGP 155), the secret to its deliciousness is its walnut basil pesto sauce.<\/p>\n

MUST DRINK: <\/strong>Mixed berry smoothie (EGP 144), but be warned the portion is not to be underestimated.<\/p>\n

PRO TIP: <\/strong>Not only are breakfast options available until 4pm but your plant-based friends can rejoice because they have vegan\/vegetarian-friendly options. Unfortunately, there is no reservation system, they operate on a \u2018first come-first serve\u2019 basis \u2014 they do get crowded \u2014 so we suggest going as early as possible or you can opt to wait around 30 minutes to one hour. <\/p>\n

#2- <\/strong>BERRO\u2019S BRASSERIE<\/a><\/strong>: Inside the newly modern mall The Nox<\/a> in New Cairo is the sleek modern-retro restaurant Berro\u2019s Brasserie, where you can enjoy a truly five-star brunch surrounded by minimalist interiors. Choose between ratatouille ala shakshuka or croque madame tartine with truffle mornay and smoked ribeye before turning your attention to the desserts, which includes dishes like french toast and buttermilk pancakes.<\/p>\n

MUST EAT: <\/strong>If you\u2019re aiming for a hearty meal opt for the BEC Bagel (EGP 230) similar to an American burger but minus the beef patty and make it breakfast. For a lighter option, have the Greek Eggs (EGP 245) \u2014 which is similar to shakshuka paired with Kolouri (a Greek sesame bread ring).<\/p>\n

MUST DRINK: <\/strong>This might sound basic but their coffee (EGP 45-102) is not one to miss, along with their other drinks.<\/p>\n

PRO TIP: <\/strong>There are outdoor and indoor seating options but if you prefer some light music we prefer staying indoors. As for reservations, there's no need, you can walk in \u2014 but be sure to be there before it gets crowded. But good news: Their breakfast ends at 2pm.<\/p>\n

#3- <\/strong>RATIOS UNDERGROUND<\/a><\/strong>: <\/strong>We all know the famed rustic Ratios bakery, but now you get to savor their pastry goodness and more in their new location that\u2019s also in Maadi<\/a> \u2014 but like you guessed it\u2019s underground. The rustic decor, smell of fresh pastries or bread, and natural sky lighting makes up the whole ambiance of the place. <\/p>\n

MUST EAT: <\/strong>For brunch purposes, we suggest ordering their compound butter board (EGP 150) with a selection of garlic and herb to salted honey butter, paired with any of their other breakfast options.<\/p>\n

PRO TIP: <\/strong>Reservations are a must before showing up through their online reservation system<\/a>, but if you\u2019re worried about parking \u2014 don\u2019t fret \u2014 they have a nearby garage where you can park. As for the kiddos they have their own minuscule versions of the dishes.<\/p>\n

#4- <\/strong>THE TAP<\/a><\/strong>: <\/strong>Spacing out on both ends of Cairo \u2014 in Zayed<\/a> and New Cairo<\/a> \u2014 is The Tap, a destination that is widely known for their gastropub dishes from double smashed wagyu beef burger to shrimp tacos. But during the weekend you can attend their brunch event, filled with good food, vibes and live performers every Friday and Saturday from 4-9pm at both branches.<\/p>\n

MUST EAT: <\/strong>Their famous wings with honorary mentions to three flavors: Nero, Mango Habanero, and Garlic Parmesan (EGP 290-480) \u2014 paired with their Loaded Nachos (EGP 340) is a craving worth satisfying.<\/p>\n

PRO TIP: <\/strong>Reservations are to be made prior through their Facebook page \u2014 depending on which branch Zayed<\/a> or New Cairo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

PRICE RANGE: <\/strong>Prices start from EGP 180 to EGP 980.<\/p>\n

#5- <\/strong>DUCHESS<\/a><\/strong>:<\/strong>This peculiarly named restaurant in New Cairo<\/a>, has even more peculiar dishes on their menu that gives you an edge to normal brunch \u2014 like Oxtail benny which is made up of Oxtail pulled beef with poached eggs and avocado paste paired with Hollandaise sauce.<\/p>\n

MUST EAT: <\/strong>We went for the Chicken or Egg (EGP 330), a panko fried chicken filet with roast potatoes, sunny egg and avocado paste. We also added the Sriracha caviar (EGP 25) which gave it a spicy kick to the crunch.<\/p>\n

MUST DRINK: <\/strong>To balance out the savouriness we ordered the Salted Caramel Latte (EGP 130).<\/p>\n

PRICE RANGE: <\/strong>Prices start from EGP 190 to EGP 330.<\/p>\n

#6- <\/strong>GRANITA<\/a><\/strong>:<\/strong>Tucked away in the island of Zamalek<\/a> and Arkan plaza<\/a> sits Granita<\/a> occupying the courtyard of All Saints Cathedral. With equal parts elegance and quirkiness \u2014 it is a home away from home. The all-day breakfast menu incorporates both Middle Eastern and Western ingredients like the Egyptian roumy cheese melted in ciabatta bread or the classic BLT with basturma \u2014 and many more options to choose from.<\/p>\n

MUST EAT: <\/strong>Their breakfast plates are a must-try giving you three options to choose from: American, Turkish, and British (EGP 190-350) \u2014 but if you want to save on the splurging we suggest going for the Turkish breakfast, it\u2019s made for two. But whatever you pick their hash browns are a must.<\/p>\n

MUST DRINK: <\/strong>Their Vietnamese coffee (EGP 80) is not one to miss, sweet and you get the caffeine kick.<\/p>\n

PRO TIP: <\/strong>Weekdays are relatively not crowded but you\u2019ll surely have to call and reserve if you\u2019re planning to go on the weekend. But on the plus side, their breakfast ends at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n

#7- <\/strong>BLOOMS AND BEANS<\/a><\/strong>: Brunch and botanical, what better way to spend your early mornings. Whilst they might not have specific brunch menus they do have the dishes and ambiance that will serve the experience. What\u2019s a brunch without bagels and eggs, and that they have. If that doesn't float your boat you can always dip into the sandwiches, and we recommend their signature roast beef ciabatta.<\/p>\n

MUST EAT: <\/strong>Ever had a salmon and cream cheese croissant with dill mustard sauce? It was worth (EGP 240) every bite.<\/p>\n

MUST DRINK: <\/strong>There wasn\u2019t much that caught our attention but we opted for the pink lemonade (EGP 85) in this hot weather, tangy and sweet.<\/p>\n

PRO TIP: <\/strong>Like we said it has a botanical side, meaning you can treat yourself by buying a bouquet or an arrangement for your house as you leave. <\/p>\n

#8- <\/strong>BAKE MY DAY<\/a><\/strong>: Straight from the heart of Amsterdam, nestled in not one, but two vibrant spots in New Cairo \u2014 Cairo Festival City Mall<\/a> and Zia Mall<\/a> \u2014 this restaurant serves up a menu influenced by Dutch, Belgian, Moroccan, and Indonesian flavors. It\u2019s like taking a culinary trip around the world without ever leaving your seat \u2014 whether you're craving some authentic Moroccan breakfast (Moroccan pancakes) and tea or Dutch grilled sausage pancakes.<\/p>\n

MUST EAT:<\/strong> If you want to evade the normal breakfast options, skip to the Moroccan pancake page and try out the Nordic smoked salmon and cream cheese dish (EGP 425) but we suggest swapping out the cream cheese with goat cheese. <\/p>\n

MUST DRINK: <\/strong>Again in this hot weather we suggest their ice teas, especially the peach or passion fruit (EGP 120).<\/p>\n

PRO TIP: <\/strong>There\u2019s no need to reserve, but we must point out that whatever you choose to order or whether you stay on for lunch we strongly recommend ordering their Belgian fries.<\/p>\n
