Almentor could be going public this year:<\/strong> Edtech platform Almentor<\/a> is taking initial steps to list its shares on one of the international stock exchanges \u2014 most probably Nasdaq \u2014 by the end of the year, the company\u2019s CEO Ihab Fikry told Al<\/a>Mal<\/a>. The company\u2019s current shareholder structure includes individuals, foreign investors from the Netherlands, France, and South Africa, as well as companies such as the UAE\u2019s e&<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The company is also in talks with investment funds to raise USD 10 mn<\/strong>, to finance the use of artificial intelligence on its platform and setting up a new department for partnerships, as well as more marketing campaigns. <\/p>\n

THE BIG STORY ABROAD<\/strong><\/p>\n

As ceasefire negotiations continue in Cairo the foreign press turns their pens to <\/strong>the US\u2019 efforts to rein in Israel: <\/strong>With thousands of Hamas fighters remaining in Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shunning calls for restraint from its ally and an upcoming election of his own to worry about, US President Joe Biden seems to have arrived at \u201ca policy cul-de-sac from which there is no exit,\u201d the Washington Post<\/a> writes. Despite Biden taking an increasingly harder stance with Israel, pro-Palestine protests objecting to the Biden administration\u2019s handling of the war and support for Israel have risen in the past weeks, notes the New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

First signs of movement?<\/strong> The Israeli military withdrew all of its ground troops from southern Gaza on Sunday save for one brigade today, reports Reuters<\/a>, citing a military spokesperson. The news comes as CIA chief Bill Burns reportedly touched down<\/a> in Cairo on Saturday and a Hamas delegation heads to town today to partake in ongoing ceasefire negotiations.<\/p>\n
