THE BIG STORY TODAY<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our first look at next year\u2019s budget: <\/strong>Earlier today we got our first look at the Madbouly government\u2019s fiscal projections for the fiscal year 2024-2025. The government sees the economy growing at a 4.8% clip in the coming fiscal year, up from this year\u2019s estimated growth of 3.0%, according to a document seen by Enterprise. The government hopes to see headline inflation average 15% during the FY 2024-25, significantly down from a projected 38% this year. <\/p>\n

THE BIG STORIES ABROAD<\/strong><\/p>\n

#1-<\/strong>Tens killed in bomb attack in Iran: <\/strong>Two bomb attacks near the grave of late Irani military commander Qasem Soleimani killed at least 73 and injured over 170 others. The attacks came on the fourth anniversary of Soleimani\u2019s assassination by the US. The death toll is still being updated. (CNN<\/a> | Reuters<\/a> | Bloomberg<\/a>) <\/p>\n

#2- The death of Hamas\u2019 second in command, Saleh al-Arouri, has also continued to <\/strong>dominate the international press since we <\/strong>dispatched <\/strong>this<\/a><\/strong>morning<\/a><\/strong>. <\/strong>A Hezbollah spokesperson says Israel is behind the strike on the Hezbollah base in Dahieh, consisting of a drone and three rockets, but they have yet to claim responsibility despite a US defense official also pointing the finger at the IDF. Even a member of the Knesset from Netanyahu\u2019s Likud party, Danny Danon, took to X<\/a> to congratulate the IDF for killing Arouri, according to the Washington Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n
