2023 has given us some well spent hours in front<\/strong> of the television screen.<\/strong> If you want to spend the last few days of the year reminiscing over what you watched \u2014 or like most of us, intend to reconnect with your television after this year\u2019s estrangement during the end of year slump \u2014 we may have something for you to watch.<\/p>\n

This list is by no means exhaustive.<\/strong> If you want a fully long and comprehensive line-up, there are a few lists that you can refer to on The Guardian<\/a>, Roger Ebert<\/a>, IMDb<\/a>, and Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

#1-<\/strong> First up is <\/strong>Slow Horses<\/a><\/strong>, which is now in its third seasonand already greenlit<\/a> for a fourth (watch trailer, runtime: 2:22<\/a>). Whether you\u2019re tuning back in or looking for something to binge over the holiday season, Gary Oldman\u2019s grinch-like Jackson Lamb is good company to keep. #2- <\/strong>Gen V<\/a><\/strong> is one of the shows we missed out on while it was airing, but it\u2019s a mistake that can be rectified<\/strong>.<\/strong> Fans of the wild, gory, and critically acclaimed The Boys<\/a> will have their itches scratched as they wait for the forthcoming fourth season. This spin-off (watch trailer, runtime 2:04<\/a>) centers on the upcoming generation of superheroes, the first to find out that their powers were induced artificially by Vought\u2019s Compound V.<\/p>\n

Not familiar with the original series? No problem.<\/strong> While both shows are set in the same universe, Gen V has a coherent main plot separate from the original story. It is currently streaming on Amazon Prime<\/a>.<\/p>\n

#3- <\/strong>It\u2019s no secret how much we loved <\/strong>Blue Eye Samurai<\/a><\/strong>.<\/strong> This animated masterpiece (watch<\/a>trailer, runtime: 2:21<\/a>) has everything you need \u2014 a compelling plot, amazing character development, beautiful scenery, and lots and lots of blood. It follows Mizu, a skilled samurai shunned by her community for being mixed-race. She\u2019s on a quest to find the only four white men in all of Edo-era Japan in search of her father \u2014 who she plans to kill. You can find it on Netflix<\/a>.<\/p>\n

#4-<\/strong>Bodies<\/a><\/strong> is a whodunnit that transcends time and space.<\/strong> The series (watch trailer, runtime<\/a>2:11<\/a>) follows four different plotlines each concerned with the discovery of a dead body on Longharvest Lane. The kicker? These plotlines are set in 1890, 1941, 2023, and 2053\u2026 and they all come across the same body. We follow each timeline\u2019s detective trying to unravel the mystery behind the person consistently dying in each time period. This mind-bender is streaming on Netflix<\/a>.<\/p>\n

#5- If you haven\u2019t boarded The Bear train yet, now\u2019s the time to do it. <\/strong>This show (watch trailer,<\/a>runtime 1:51<\/a>) is a favorite at Enterprise<\/a>, and with good reason. It follows Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a world-class chef thrust back into the kitchen of his family\u2019s run-down sandwich shop after his brother\u2019s tragic death. It\u2019s a tense show, but a deeply engrossing one too. If you\u2019re a film bro and a foodie, we can\u2019t think of a better fit for you.
