The BIG BUSINESS STORY here at home this afternoon: The EFG-backed <\/strong>Egypt Education Platform<\/a><\/strong> is studying the possibility of launching in Saudi Arabia<\/strong> within the next 12-18 months, our friend Karim Moussa, co-CEO of EFG Hermes, told Enterprise. <\/p>\n

EEP could roll out its own brands there or acquire <\/strong>and invest in new brands,<\/strong> Moussa added. \u201cWe see a great opportunity to leverage EEP\u2019s operational know-how in the KSA and generate further income for our operations in Egypt,\u201d he said. \u201cThe kingdom has very ambitious plans for its education sector.\u201d<\/p>\n

Refresher: EEP Is an education management firm that counts EFG Hermes and the <\/strong>Sovereign Fund of Egypt among its anchor investors.<\/strong> It owns a network of schools and nurseries as well as majority stakes in academic content producer Selah El Telmeez and Option Travel, which offers student transportation.<\/p>\n

THE BIG STORY ABROAD-<\/strong><\/p>\n

Foreign nationals and critically injured Palestinians are entering Egypt <\/strong>through the Rafah border crossing. The story is leading the conversation in the international press this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Footage on <\/strong>state television<\/strong> (<\/strong>watch, runtime: 6:55<\/a><\/strong>) earlier today showed seriously injured Palestinians arriving in Egypt <\/strong>by ambulance. The New York Times<\/a> reports that more than 80 people injured by Israel\u2019s bombardment of the enclave have arrived in Egypt for treatment and that \u201chundreds\u201d of foreign passport holders are crossing over after an agreement brokered by Egypt, Qatar and the United States. Reuters<\/a> and the Wall Street Journal<\/a> also have the story.<\/p>\n

The news comes one day after Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly <\/strong>flatly rejected Israel\u2019s pressure to accept an exodus of Palestinians into Sinai<\/a><\/strong>. <\/strong>The PM, speaking during a visit to the peninsula, left the door open to an arrangement that would see severely wounded Gazans transferred here for treatment. <\/p>\n

#3- The Mersal Foundation <\/strong>is a non-profit medical organization running medical aid convoys to Gaza. #4- Lifemakers: <\/strong>The NGO, which has a record of providing medical, educational and social care services to Palestinians, has been helping to prepare aid convoys ahead of dispatch to deliver food, medical supplies, water, blankets, clothing, and other essentials to the besieged Gaza strip since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war.
