EBRD has a new East Med director: <\/strong>The European Bank for Reconstruction and <\/strong> Development <\/strong> (EBRD) has appointed Gretchen Biery <\/strong> as its eastern Mediterranean director effective 1 September, the lender said in a statement<\/a> yesterday. Briery will lead the bank\u2019s operations in Jordan<\/strong>, Lebanon<\/strong>, and the West Bank and Gaza<\/strong>, reporting to SEMED Managing Director Heike Harmgart. <\/p>\n

Biery has been working with the EBRD since 2018<\/strong>, first heading up its operations in Lebanon before becoming a senior advisor to Harmgart. Prior to that, Biery held positions at the US Treasury and several multilateral development banks, as well as working as a consultant to bilateral investment agencies.
