Prosecutors have accused Naqvi and Abdel-Wadood of artificially inflating the value of Abraaj\u2019s EM assets by more than USD 500 mn and of using the proceeds to fund Abraaj\u2019s own operating costs without notifying investors, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2019-04-11\/abraaj-group-ceo-naqvi-charged-with-fraud-conspiracy-in-n-y\">according to Bloomberg<\/a>.
