Egypt has already passed laws on the SME sector and is looking to introduce incentives such as a proposed <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2018\/11\/05\/egypt-smes-to-pay-1-vat-under-proposed-smes-act-finmin-has-new-definition-of-small-business\/\">1% VAT for SMEs<\/a>, which could be an effective way to begin to widen the tax base.
