We have all you need to know in this morning\u2019s Speed Round, below.<\/p>\n<p><b>Just in time for Africa\u2019s largest sporting event: We have three shiny new metro stations<\/b> on line three: Haroun El Rashid, El Shams Club and Alf Maskan, <a href=\"http:\/\/english.ahram.org.eg\/NewsContent\/1\/64\/336226\/Egypt\/Politics-\/Egypt-opens-three-new-stations-in-the-Cairo-metro-.aspx\">Ahram Online<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"grey-line\">\n<p><b>It\u2019s interest rate week in the US of A<\/b>, with the US Federal Reserve widely seen as under pressure to get back on the easing train and cut rates when its Federal Open Markets Committee concludes its two-day meeting on Wednesday. Pundits see the Fed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2019\/06\/14\/three-reasons-why-the-fed-wont-cut-rates-at-its-june-meeting.html\">leaving rates on hold now<\/a>, but signaling that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2019\/06\/14\/fed-rate-cut-could-come-sooner-than-some-expect-but-not-yet.html\">a rate cut could take place in July<\/a>. We take a deep dive into what this means for Egypt and emerging markets in this morning\u2019s lead Speed Round piece, below.<\/p>\n<p><b>The House general assembly is off this week<\/b>, but will be back next week to debate the FY2019-20 budget.<\/p>\n<p><b>Also this week:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our friends at Pharos are holding their <a href=\"http:\/\/enterprise.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/2019Annual-Investor-Conference_PRL_ENG_Final.pdf\"><b>annual investor conference<\/b> (pdf)<\/a> in Hurghada which kicks off on Wednesday;<\/li>\n<li>President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is expected to attend <a href=\"https:\/\/cca.eventbank.com\/event\/u-s-africa-business-summit-2019-11813\/\"><b>US-Africa Business summit<\/b><\/a>in Mozambique, which runs Tuesday through Friday;<\/li>\n<li>Middle East and Africa <b>Rail Show<\/b> will take place at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, Nasr City today;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.terrapinn.com\/exhibition\/seamless-north-africa\/index.stm\"><b>Seamless North Africa<\/b><\/a> will be held at the Nile Ritz-Carlton tomorrow;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/platforms-root-technologies.com\/ctw\/\"><b>Cairo Technology Week<\/b><\/a> will run next week at the Hilton Heliopolis starting from tomorrow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr class=\"grey-line\">\n<p><b>US expands probe into Abraaj: <\/b>The US attorney\u2019s office for the southern district of New York unveiled new charges on Thursday against three more former senior executives of Abraaj, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/e3e71304-8e9e-11e9-a24d-b42f641eca37\">the FT reports.<\/a> The defunct private equity firm\u2019s former CFO Ashish Dave, former VP responsible for day-to-day cash flow Rafique Lakhani, a former managing partner Waqar Siddique were added to the list of executives who have been charged with allegedly misappropriating USD 250 mn from its healthcare fund, including founder Arif Naqvi, who is under house arrest on GBP 15 mn bail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"web-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ent.news\/2019\/6\/2551.jpg?ssl=1\"><\/p>\n<p><b>It\u2019s looking more than a little tense in the GCC at the moment:<\/b> Pundits are again speculating about the possibility of open conflict in the Gulf between the United States and Iran after two oil tankers were attacked in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday. The US and its Gulf allies immediately blamed Iran, producing a grainy video that they shey shows proof that Iranian forces had placed mines. The Japanese company operating one of the ships however <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/06\/14\/world\/middleeast\/oil-tanker-attack-gulf-oman.html\">disputed US claims<\/a>, saying that its ship had instead been hit by a flying object. Iran has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-mideast-attacks\/trump-says-iran-did-do-it-as-u-s-seeks-support-on-gulf-oil-tanker-attacks-idUSKCN1TF0CA\">denied<\/a> the accusations.<\/p>\n<p><b>The attack drive oil prices up, <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/oil-prices-rebound-from-five-month-lows-on-reports-of-gulf-of-oman-tanker-fire-2019-06-13\">MarketWatch<\/a> reports, and western countries are now considering giving military protection to oil tankers navigating the Gulf in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/west-poised-to-give-gulf-tankers-military-escorts-in-face-of-iran-threat-5mwqqmbqx\">callback to the \u201cTanker War\u201d<\/a> between Iran and Iraq in the 1980s.<\/p>\n<p><b>In other international news <\/b>you need to know about this morning:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Putting lipstick on a\u2026<\/b> UBS has thrown its a top economist under the bus, putting him on leave after China freaked out over a bad translation of his remarks about pork prices. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2019-06-15\/wall-street-learns-hard-lesson-on-why-not-to-say-pig-in-china?srnd=premium-middle-east\">Bloomberg<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/82a517f2-8e6d-11e9-a24d-b42f641eca37\">Financial Times<\/a> have plenty of coverage.<\/li>\n<li><b>Stop us if you\u2019ve heard this one before\u2026 <\/b>Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2019-06-16\/saudi-crown-prince-expects-aramco-ipo-in-2020-2021-paper-says?srnd=premium-middle-east\">reportedly<\/a> sees the Aramco IPO going forward in 2020 or 2021.
