There was no mention of the outcome of the sessions, which saw participation from industry stakeholders including representatives from the Insurance Federation of Egypt (IFE) and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ehms.us\/about.html\">Egyptian Healthcare Management Society<\/a>. We reported last week that the FRA is <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2019\/05\/23\/egypts-market-regulator-to-review-draft-insurance-act-after-eid-break\/\">set to review<\/a> the draft act before the Eid El Fitr break.<\/p>\n<p><b>Discussions likely touched on high capital requirements: <\/b>If passed, the proposed legislation would raise the required issued and paid-in capital of life and property insurance providers by 150% and the minimum legal requirement for reinsurers by 733%. The IFE <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2019\/01\/31\/insurance-companies-not-happy-with-capital-requirements-in-insurance-act\/\">has made clear<\/a> that it views the new thresholds as unnecessarily high and is urging the government to reduce them.
