The decision applies to all companies providing shipping services via land, air and sea. Exporters will need to present export papers to the shipping company in order to become VAT exempt. <a href=\"http:\/\/enterprise.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/cargo_services_vat-_exclusive_720.jpg\">\u00a0A copy of the decree is available here (jpg)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Background: <\/b>The government <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2019\/05\/15\/government-to-collect-vat-from-download-sites\/\">wants to add around 500k new VAT taxpayers<\/a> by 2020 and raise VAT revenues to EGP 364.6 bn in the next fiscal year, from EGP 312 bn currently.
