Less than half of the 994 surveyed handlers considered safe food handling an essential part of their job, only 36% of participants were aware that handlers might carry foodborne pathogens, and almost one-third didn\u2019t agree that thorough washing of vegetables and fruits is necessary to prevent food poisoning.
