The government is planning to have at least 50k car owners convert their vehicles to run on natural gas this year by installing dual-fuel natgas\/gasoline engines, according to a ministry statement (pdf)<\/a>. The plan will see more refueling stations built across Egypt and new financial instruments to fund more conversions. State-owned Natural Gas Vehicles Company (Cargas) and Gastec, which will be providing the change service, will also make it easier for owners to cover the cost of the upgrade by requiring no down payments and offering flexible, simplified payment terms.
