Jordan goes back to importing Egyptian natural gas after temporary halt:<\/b> Egypt Gas has signed a one-year, USD 3.9 mn contract with the Jordanian\u2013Egyptian Fajr for Natural Gas Transport and Supply Company to supply natural gas to Jordan Phosphate Mines<\/a>, the company said in a statement (pdf)<\/a>. Jordan had stopped importing gas from Egypt in July<\/a> due to low demand from its electricity producers. The kingdom had before then been reportedly importing only 75 mcf\/d from Egypt.<\/p>\n

Background:<\/b> Jordan went back to importing 10% of its gas needs from Egypt in September last year<\/a>, after a seven-year hiatus, as part of an agreement initially signed in 2014, but delayed due to Egypt\u2019s inability to make available the agreed amount.
