A separate agreement, also financed by the DFC, involves Noble and Dolphinus jointly manufacturing petroleum products. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-egypt-economy-investment\/egypt-signs-430-million-gas-deal-with-texas-noble-energy-idUSKBN1XX0CU\">Reuters took note of the story<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What will be happening to the pipeline?<\/strong> There were few specifics on what the pipeline investment entails. Noble, Israel\u2019s Delek Drilling, and Egypt\u2019s East Gas <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2019\/11\/04\/delek-consortium-egypts-east-gas-acquire-39-stake-of-emg-pipeline\/\">recently acquired<\/a> a 39% stake in EMG, paving the way for the transportation of <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2019\/10\/03\/israel-to-boost-gas-supply-to-egypt-by-34-after-changes-to-landmark-agreement\/\">85.3 bn cubic meters<\/a> of gas into Egypt under a landmark agreement signed in 2018 with Dolphinus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More than USD 250 mn in funding for energy sector from EBRD:<\/strong> Investment Minister Sahar Nasr and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President Suma Chakrabarti signed a USD 201 mn agreement to upgrade Egypt\u2019s national electricity grid. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebrd.com\/news\/2019\/ebrd-steps-up-support-for-greener-oil-and-gas-sector-in-egypt-.html\">separate agreement<\/a> signed by both officials will see EBRD provide a USD 50 mn loan to the Suez Oil Processing Company for a new asphalt production line. Lekela Egypt also formally announced during the forum that it has <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2019\/10\/16\/siemens-gamesa-starts-work-on-lekelas-250-mw-west-bakr-wind-plant\/\">started construction<\/a> on the <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2019\/08\/14\/ebrd-ifc-opic-agree-to-finance-usd-252-mn-of-lekela-egypts-250-mw-wind-farm\/\">250 MW wind plant<\/a> in West Bakr in the Gulf of Suez, which is expected to raise Egypt\u2019s wind energy capacity by 18% once completed in 2021.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ITFC signs off on USD 100 loan for Afreximbank: <\/strong>The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation will provide the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) with a USD 100 mn tranche of a USD 500 mn loan to facilitate import and export transactions between Egypt and African countries, according to the statement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Egypt signed several other agreements on the sidelines, including:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Kuwaiti loan for Sinai development: <\/strong>The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development will provide a USD 83 mn (KD 25 mn) loan to fund works on a highway linking North and South Sinai;<\/li>\n<li><strong>USD 50 mn facility from EIB for community-led SMEs: <\/strong>A USD 50 mn facility for the European Investment Bank (EIB) that is part of USD 99 mn program for SMEs development. The EIB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masrawy.com\/news\/news_economy\/details\/2019\/11\/23\/1675779\/-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%AB%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%B1-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A3%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%A8%D9%8A-%D9%8A%D9%88%D9%82%D8%B9-%D8%A7%D8%AA%D9%81%D8%A7%D9%82%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D8%BA%D8%AF-%D8%A7-%D9%85%D8%B9-%D8%A8%D9%86%D9%83-%D9%85%D8%B5%D8%B1-%D8%A8%D9%80-500-%D9%85%D9%84%D9%8A%D9%88%D9%86-%D9%8A%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%88#sectionListing\">is expected<\/a> to sign another EUR 500 mn SMEs financing agreement agreement with Banque Misr later today;<\/li>\n<li><strong>USD 43 mn in Chinese grants:<\/strong> The Chinese government will provide USD 43 mn in grants for education, healthcare, and human resource development; and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Two separate economic cooperation MoUs with Angola and Djibouti<\/strong> that will see us involved in more joint projects and increase the frequency of business delegation visits to and from the two African nations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>More from the forum, Africa suffers USD 450 bn investment gap:<\/strong> African countries need USD 500 bn of investment annually to achieve their development goals but currently only receive USD 50 bn, UN Assistant Secretary-General Mourad Wahba said during the forum, <a href=\"https:\/\/almalnews.com\/%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%a3%d9%85%d9%8a%d9%86-%d8%a7%d9%84%d9%85%d8%b3%d8%a7%d8%b9%d8%af-%d9%84%d9%84%d8%a3%d9%85%d9%85-%d8%a7%d9%84%d9%85%d8%aa%d8%ad%d8%af%d8%a9-%d8%af%d9%88%d9%84-%d8%a3%d9%81%d8%b1%d9%8a\/\">according to Al Mal<\/a>.
