Changing of the guard at three key judicial institutions:<\/span> New heads of the Court of <\/span>Cassation, the Administrative Prosecution Authority and the State Lawsuits Authority have been sworn in by President El Sisi, <\/span>Ittihadiya <\/span>said<\/a><\/span> yesterday. <\/span><\/p>\n

Court of Cassation: <\/span>Judge <\/span>Hossny Hassan Abdel Latif Abou Zaid<\/span> has replaced Judge Mohamed Eid Mohamed as chief justice. The Court of Cassation is Egypt\u2019s highest appeals court.<\/span><\/p>\n

Administrative Prosecution Authority (APA):<\/span> Judge <\/span>Hafez Ahmed Abbas<\/span> replaced Judge Adly Abdel Fattah Zayed as head of the APA. The authority prosecutes administrative and other crimes committed by members of the civil service. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sate Lawsuits Authority:<\/span> Judge <\/span>Mosaad Abdel Maksoud<\/span> succeeds Judge Mohamed Mohamed Bakr as head. The SLA is effectively Egypt\u2019s attorney-general, representing the state in legal matters. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
