The expansion is worth USD 120 mn. The SCZone board <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/06152d9e-5cd6-49e2-987c-827ec8748e68\" style=\"\">approved the project<\/a><\/span><span> earlier this month. In April the company began construction on its <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/1e90f256-719d-44ac-b3dc-00f0b167fa3d\" style=\"\">USD 110 mn plastics plant<\/a><\/span><span>, which<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> will produce 30k tons of polyethylene a month and is expected to be fully operational by mid-2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">#2- Talks with <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:700\">ACME over proposed <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:700\">green hydrogen plant:<\/span><span> Clean energy company <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.acme.in\/\" style=\"\">ACME<\/a><\/span><span> could soon sign a framework agreement with Egyptian authorities for a proposed USD 12 bn green hydrogen plant in the SCZone. The plant would have an annual production capacity of 2.2 mn tons when fully operational, and would produce 100k tons a year in a pilot phase, according to the statement. An initial MoU for the plant <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/4ab5ebab-55a1-4a68-97a3-0f02e5b4e147\" style=\"\">was signed last August<\/a><\/span><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">#3- Jindal Steel could turn to SCZone to manufacture green steel:<\/span><span> Steel <\/span><span>company <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jindalsteelpower.com\/about-us.html\" style=\"\">Jindal Steel and Power<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> wants to establish an environmentally-friendly iron and steel plant with a production capacity of 5 mn tons a year. The plant would be built over two phases and be powered using renewable energy sources such as green hydrogen, the SCZone said. It aims to make the zone a hub and export its products to foreign markets. The statement didn\u2019t include a projected investment cost.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">#4- Platinum Industries eyes PVC plant: <\/span><span>Plastics producer manufacturer <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/platinumindustriesltd.com\/about-us\/\" style=\"\">Platinum Industries<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">wants to establish a USD 10 mn PVC and CPVC factory at the zone, according to the statement. The plant would be built over two phases, and would export 70% of its output overseas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">#5- Sterlite Power wants to help keep the lights on at Sokhna:<\/span><span> Indian power transmission developer <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sterlitepower.com\/who-we-are\" style=\"\">Sterlite Power<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">wants to establish electricity transmission and distribution networks within the Sokhna zone. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">#6- Shapoorji eyes SCZone for multiple projects:<\/span><span> Construction giant <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shapoorjipallonji.com\/about\/\" style=\"\">Shapoorji Pallonji<\/a><\/span><span> is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">interested in infrastructure projects at the SCZone, including water desalination plants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Remember: This is the second SCZone roadshow in as many months.<\/span><span> A number of <\/span><span>Chinese companies expressed interest in <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/fcb90924-b70d-4587-b5f5-cc652d64c922\" style=\"\">investing hundreds of mns of USD<\/a><\/span><span> in new projects in the zone
