The exchange earlier this month <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/f74bc612-225d-46ed-b938-e05bf7e980bf\" style=\"\">gave<\/a><\/span><span style=\"-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;font-weight:700;text-decoration-skip-ink:none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/f74bc612-225d-46ed-b938-e05bf7e980bf\" style=\"\"><\/a><\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/f74bc612-225d-46ed-b938-e05bf7e980bf\" style=\"\">the Qalaa Holdings subsidiary the greenlight<\/a><\/span><span style=\"\"> to <\/span><span style=\"\">list<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> its 1.352 bn shares on the bourse. Rather than going the conventional route of holding an initial public offering, the company will sell shares directly on the bourse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">And what we don\u2019t:<\/span><span style=\"\"> Al Borsa\u2019<\/span><span style=\"\">s sources did not disclose the reason for the delay<\/span><span style=\"\">.<\/span><span style=\"\"> The company did not respond to our request for comment yesterday. It is also unclear how many shares the company plans to sell to the public or how much it hopes to raise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">About the company:<\/span><span style=\"\"> Taqa Arabia is one of the country\u2019s leading energy distribution and utility companies, with operations spanning gas transmission and distribution, power, renewable energy and water. The company has EGP 676.2 mn of capital split between 1.352 bn shares. Qalaa owns about 55% of the company, with the remaining shares reportedly split between at least 300 other shareholders.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Trading on the
