The remaining shares are held by the Canal Shipping Agencies Company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Remember:<\/span><span> The company has been in line for an IPO since December when it <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/76234ede-1220-4d46-b3a6-b497f60771d7\" style=\"\">listed its shares on the exchange<\/a><\/span><span>. Nothing has been heard from the talks since, and though details of the negotiations remain unclear, it was said that the Transport Ministry was reluctant to cede majority control of the companies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700;\">AN ETHYDCO IPO?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Could Sidpec IPO Ethydco post-merger?<\/span><span style=\"\"> That\u2019s one of the options on the table, <\/span><span>according to <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/almalnews.com\/premium\/%d8%af%d8%b1%d8%a7%d8%b3%d8%a9-%d9%84%d8%b7%d8%b1%d8%ad-%d8%a5%d9%8a%d8%ab%d9%8a%d8%af%d9%83%d9%88-%d9%81%d9%89-%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%a8%d9%88%d8%b1%d8%b5%d8%a9-%d8%a8%d8%b9%d8%af-%d8%a5%d8%aa\/\" style=\"\">Al Mal<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">. Sources familiar with the matter reportedly tell the newspaper that foreign investors have shown interest in acquiring 10% of the company and that this could be done via a public share sale on the EGX. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Remember: <\/span><span>Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals (Sidpec) <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/84c8f27c-1814-4643-898c-23f0fe081b81\" style=\"\">is in the process<\/a><\/span><span> of acquiring the remaining shares in the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (Ethydco) in an all-share merger. Sidpec currently owns 20% of the company, making it the second-largest shareholder after Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM), which holds 21%. The merger <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/84c8f27c-1814-4643-898c-23f0fe081b81\" style=\"\">has been in the works<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> since last year, and according to Al Mal\u2019s sources should be completed within two months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">One option among many:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> An IPO is just one option under consideration, according to the people, who say that a final decision will be made after the acquisition wraps. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Ethydco has been earmarked for privatization:<\/span><span> Ethydco was among <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/a94808c5-7a0c-4027-a786-804f2dc35954\"
