<\/span>First Binance, now Coinbase:<\/span> US regulators have filed a lawsuit against Coinbase in an <\/span>escalating crackdown on the crypto industry. The Securities and Exchange Commission <\/span>alleged<\/a><\/span> that Coinbase, the country\u2019s largest crypto trading platform, had breached regulations by failing to register as an exchange.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was the second lawsuit filed by the SEC against the crypto industry in two days:<\/span> The regulator <\/span>hit the world\u2019s largest crypto exchange Binance<\/a><\/span> with a civil suit on Monday, filing 13 charges against the company and its enigmatic owner Changpeng Zhao for alleged market manipulation, misuse of funds and misrepresentation. <\/span>Investors have since withdrawn more than USD 1.4 bn from the exchange, according to <\/span>Reuters<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
