Google also offers <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ads.google.com\/home\/\" style=\"\">advertising services<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> to businesses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">It\u2019s been months in the making: <\/span><span>The Finance Ministry <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.almasdar.com\/126440\" style=\"\">first announced<\/a><\/span><span> the regulatory amendments to the VAT Law in March, subjecting non-resident service providers to VAT. <\/span><span>The VAT Law now includes transactions made on \u201celectronic distribution platforms\u201d which includes websites, internet portals, e-stores or other internet marketplaces connecting suppliers with clients<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">It\u2019s a matter of time before VAT hits other online services: <\/span><span>\u201cWe want service providers like Google, Facebook, Youtube, and Netflix to register for VAT through the <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eta.gov.eg\/en\/content\/digital-service-gd\" style=\"\">simplified registration process<\/a><\/span><span>,\u201d the Egyptian Tax Authority\u2019s director of taxpayer services <\/span><span>Mohsen El Gayar t<\/span><span>old Enterprise.
