The Egypt-US Joint Economic Commission held its first meeting in Cairo yesterday<\/span>, <\/span>according to <\/span>a joint statement<\/a><\/span>. The meeting discussed \u201cpromoting economic and commercial ties, facilitating investment and entrepreneurship, and encouraging private sector involvement in economic development,\u201d the statement said. Cooperation in specific sectors including energy, IT and the environment was discussed. The commission was <\/span>first announced<\/a><\/span> in November 2021 with the aim of exploring ways to deepen economic and business ties.<\/span><\/p>\n
