The<\/span><span> government-owned<\/span><span> 580-MW <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nrea.gov.eg\/Technology\/WindStations\" style=\"\">Gabal El Zeit<\/a><\/span><span> and 545-MW <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nrea.gov.eg\/Technology\/WindStations\" style=\"\">Zafarana<\/a><\/span><span> wind farms were both included in the <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/a94808c5-7a0c-4027-a786-804f2dc35954\" style=\"\">list of 32 companies<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> and assets earmarked for privatization in February and have attracted significant interest among investors, according to the news outlet, which says the sales are expected to be completed before the end of 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">What we don\u2019t know:<\/span><span style=\"\"> Who the other four bidders might be or the potential valuation of the two <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">plants. A representative at Infinity declined to comment when Enterprise reached out yesterday. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">The Madbouly cabinet has formed a committee to negotiate with potential investors<\/span><span style=\"\"> and <\/span><span>review offers for Gabal El-Zeit, noting that it\u2019s already received some offers for the wind farm, and is reviewing the expected timeline for the Zafarana wind farm, <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EgyptianCabinet\/posts\/pfbid02XnWjrQRaaKYx9r48JrdoQXbDskV5HcxgnvNgWJJJmYWeuhTXCcXcxcom7XvJGRgGl\" style=\"\">it said<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> earlier this week. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">An attractive buy? <\/span><span style=\"\">Long-term feasibility studies are reportedly already in place, one source told <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">Asharq, saying that a strategic investor in either wind farm \u201cwill only replace the turbines.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">ACWA Power, Alcazar, and Infinity are household names in our green energy sector<\/span><span style=\"\">, with <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">all three companies signing multiple MoUs and agreements in the sector in the past year, including for large-scale wind farms:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight:700\">ACWA <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/866d0721-9205-4641-bcd0-b61100d2abec\" style=\"\">signed<\/a><\/span><span> a MoU in November last year with the NREA and Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company to build a 10-GW wind farm in Egypt and <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/031ecccd-f816-4657-ae61-58d9c32a706d\" style=\"\">signed<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> a 25-year power purchase agreement alongside Hassan Allam last June to develop a 1.1-GW wind farm in the Gulf of Suez.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Infinity Power \u2013 a joint venture between <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Infinity <\/span><span>and long-time partner Masdar \u2013 is set to <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/a47a543d-1e04-4e8f-816e-558dff985f59\" style=\"\">build<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> a 10-GW onshore wind farm in Egypt, alongside Hassan Allam Utilities and Masdar.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Alcazar <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/4ab5ebab-55a1-4a68-97a3-0f02e5b4e147\" style=\"\">signed<\/a><\/span><span> an early agreement to build green fuel facilities in the Ain Sokhna Industrial Zone in August last year. The company also recently <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/eabbb6a3-3a5e-4df9-9910-a489d4ba7f32\" style=\"\">signed<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> a partnership agreement with Egypt-based Madkour Group to work together on renewable energy projects in Egypt and Africa.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">REMEMBER-<\/span><span style=\"\"> We should soon see more movement on the state\u2019s rebooted privatization <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/a94808c5-7a0c-4027-a786-804f2dc35954\" style=\"\">program<\/a><\/span><span>. Offers could start rolling in this month for <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a
