Banking group <\/span>Citi <\/span>has appointed <\/span>Omar Hafeez <\/span>(<\/span>LinkedIn<\/a><\/span>) as the <\/span>head of its North <\/span>Africa, Levant and Central Asia<\/span>, based in Dubai, according to a <\/span>press release<\/a><\/span>.<\/span> Hafeez has almost 20 years of banking experience with Citi, including leadership roles in Nigeria, New York and Pakistan and most recently as the head of the corporate banking business in Japan, the third-largest for Citi globally.<\/span><\/p>\n

The move follows Citi\u2019s restructuring of its Middle East and Africa operations<\/span> into three divisions: Sub Saharan Africa, Middle East and Pakistan, and North Africa, Levant and Central Asia. Hafeez will oversee operations in Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Israel.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
