Damascus is now allowed to attend meetings and it has been suggested that the country\u2019s president, Bashar Al Assad, could chair the next gathering on 19 May.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Calls to end the war:<\/span><span style=\"\"> The decision included a call by Arab states to reach a political settlement <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">to the war in Syria and address issues such as refugees, terrorism and drug trafficking. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and the Arab League's secretary-general will set up a group that will work with the Syria government to end the conflict.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Regional realignment:<\/span><span style=\"\"> The vote follows weeks of talks <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/373fda24-6907-4c8b-bb56-623da5e5a367\" style=\"\">among Arab diplomats<\/a><\/span><span style=\"\"> to readmit the <\/span><span>country back into the league and reestablish bilateral ties.
